2023

FMSCICOM2023, 14th Scientific Conference for Ph.D. Students and Young Researchers in Management, took place on 27 October 2023 at the premises of Faculty of Management, Prague University of Economics and Business.


The committee evaluated the individual contributions and chose the three best presenters. Their evaluation reflected a comprehensive concept of research, presentation skills and also the level of their scientific posters. The three awards this year (alphabetically) are:

  • Zdena Hruskova: Navigating Informal Learning in Czech SMEs: A Critical Discursive Psychology Approach.
  • Petr Simacek: Does informal relationship with colleagues influence post-meeting task performance and meeting effectiveness? Affective events theory perspective.
  • Laura Völkl: Higher Education Institutions as Communication Channels for Sustainability

Caroline Dotter, Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg

A post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Social Research and Technology Assessment (IST) at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg. She studied law and economics at the Universities of Erfurt and Nottingham. After completing her PhD in economics on poverty measurement at the University of Göttingen, she accepted a position at the IST in 2019. Her current research interests include household and user analysis of preferences and decisions in human-technology interaction.

Caroline will hold a keynote on Analysing the human-machine interface – Theories and research methods for understanding successful development and implementation of technology.

Agnieszka Piekara, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business

An assistant professor at the Department of Process Management at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB), has been professionally associated with WUEB for 13 years. She also has experience in cooperation with SMEs and NGOs as a R&D manager. She was selected to participate in the design thinking workshops Challenge Labs organised by EIT Food Central Europe. Her main scientific interest lies in applying the design thinking method in the food industry, design thinking vs sustainable development, food labelling and visual perception of warning labels.
